Since Kevin and Megan's Birthdays are one day apart, we decided to have a little party and celebrate. Megan got the usual cards and gifts but I planned a "Birthday Experience" for Kevin since I couldn't think of anything at all to get him and I didn't think he really needed any birthday $$$$.

Several months ago, Kevin mentioned that he always wanted to pull a tablecloth out from under a table set with dishes, so I grabbed Chris and dragged him to a junk store to make a little birthday wish come true for Kevin. Jessie helped me get it all ready the morning of the party...

...and here it is, isn't it pretty?

We hid the table outside covered with a sheet and when the time finally came to unveil the Birthday Experience Chris and Jessie got it ready...

Kevin was funny because when he first saw it I think he was confused and thought he had to eat outside. But when he finally realized he really got to do it...he was very excited...actually, so was everybody watching as well...

...after analyzing how best to accomplish his task (and with lots and lots of unsolicated advice) he decided to just DO IT...Greg helped hold the table steady...

Ta da....

Everyone cheered but Greg felt sad because he wanted to have a birthday experience, too...and so did all the guys...

...so everybody pitched in and got the table ready so someone else could have a turn...

"PICK ME, PICK ME," said Jim...

"PICK ME, PICK ME," said Greg...

"PICK ME, PICK ME," said Dan...

"I'LL PICK ALL THIS BROKEN JUNK UP," said Matt...

...and Julia just walked around trying to figure out what was wrong with all the grownups...

...or else that was her protective helmet. After the "Birthday Experience" everyone sat around for awhile reliving their glory moments....

...Steve just hid in the other room with weiners and babies. I think he was ashamed he didn't attempt it....

...Angie popped in briefly but left again...

...and poor Oskar was just worn out by the whole experience...

take me home, please
